TAMA NATURAL SWEET WINE 2008 from Ikaria
This wine expresses one of the rarest and most concentrated sides of Fokiano. It is not just a sweet wine. It is a natural sweet wine from Ikaria, shaped by time, grape overripeness and the small-production philosophy of Afianes Wines.
TAMA NATURAL SWEET WINE 2008 and 100% Fokiano
Fokiano gives this wine intensity, rich body and natural sweetness. In this vintage, the variety shows a mature and deep character, with notes of dried fruit, fig, date, orange and honey. Therefore, TAMA NATURAL SWEET WINE 2008 is ideal for wine lovers who search for a rare Greek sweet wine with history, depth and authenticity.
Noble rot and natural concentration
The production begins with overripe grapes, when noble rot helps create greater concentration and aromatic depth. Through a special technique, part of the grapes dehydrate gently on the plants, while the rest dehydrate on frames in an outdoor shaded space. This process gives the wine natural density, sweetness and a complex aromatic profile.
Slow fermentation and long ageing
After pressing, the must goes through cold soaking, sediment removal and fermentation in a closed stainless-steel tank below 10°C. Fermentation lasts 80 days, helping the wine develop depth and balance. Then, the wine stays for two years in old oak barrels and another two years in stainless steel before bottling.
Taste profile of TAMA NATURAL SWEET WINE 2008
In the glass, this wine shows an intense honey color with orange highlights. On the nose, it offers dried apricot, fig, date and orange liqueur. On the palate, it feels dense, sweet and complex, with a long anama honey finish. At the same time, ageing adds depth, maturity and greater persistence.
Food pairing ideas
You can pair this natural sweet wine with caramelized fruit, salted dark chocolate, dried nuts and high-fat cheeses. It also works beautifully with desserts based on fig, orange, honey or nuts. Its sweetness and density make it ideal for slow enjoyment after dinner, but also for creative gastronomic pairings.
Serving recommendation
Serve TAMA NATURAL SWEET WINE 2008 chilled, at 10°C. This temperature keeps the sweetness balanced and highlights the aromas of dried fruit, orange and honey. Also, give the wine a few minutes in the glass, so it can open gradually and reveal its full aromatic complexity.
