The Maenads, also known as Bacchantes, belonged to the retinue of Dionysus, the Greek god associated with wine, festivity and ritual ecstasy. In ancient Greek art and mythology, they are often portrayed dancing and singing during Dionysian celebrations, expressing freedom, movement and the untamed power of nature.

Created from 925 sterling silver by the Ikarian silversmith and goldsmith Fakaros Jewellery, the Mainada ring features a custom design created exclusively for Afianes Winery.
