Tama is the perfect finish for family meals gathered around a table. With rich, honeyed notes and a luscious, lingering finish, it invites you to stay just a little longer and enjoy the togetherness that this special time of year brings.
What is included?
- A 500ml ceramic bottle of Tama 2011, a single-varietal sweet wine made solely from noble-rot affected Fokiano grapes. Noble rot is a rare fungus that appears in the vineyard only after very specific conditions: morning humidity, which allows the fungus to form, and poke tiny holes into the grape. This must be followed by warm, dry afternoons, which allows the water inside the grapes to completely evaporate, naturally concentrating the sugars, acids, and complex flavors. Some of the world’s best sweet wines are made from this method, including Sauternes from Bordeaux and Tokaji from Hungary.
- A 250gr jar of Ikarian thyme honey: Ikaria’s honey is renowned as some of the best in Greece. We work with local beekeepers that continue our island’s rich apiary tradition, reflecting the incredible flora of our landscape. Thyme honey has a rich, complex sweetness with herbaceous and earthy qualities. It has incredible antibacterial, antiseptic, and antioxidant properties, and is as beneficial for your health as it is delicious.
- Handmade ceramic ornament: This ceramic ornament was handmade by our dear friends from Terra Ikaria ceramic studio located in Christos Raches village. It is a lovely addition to any holiday decoration, and a little piece of Ikaria for your home.
- Afianes gift bag with ribbon: We are happy to include an Afianes gift bag and holiday ribbon for easy gift-wrapping.

Sweet wines are more diverse than people think. Of course, the classic pairing for sweet wines is dessert: matching the intensity of the sweetness pairs very well and is a delightful end to a beautiful holiday meal. However, you can also play with juxtaposition! Pairing sweet wines with savory or umami flavors (like rich, funky cheeses) is a perfect way to balance the palate experience. Instead of pairing dessert wine at the end of the meal, try pouring a little alongside a charcuterie board, and you will be shocked at how well it pairs. We recommend small pours for dessert wines, around 88ml (3 oz).
